Web Design Summary

I create "unique" web sites. I don't use templates because very few templates have usability in mind. I will be creating your web site from the ground up. Your site will not look like any other and it will not look dated after a couple of years. I make sure the visitor finds what they want in the shortest journey possible.

I have worked on a number of multi-million pound projects so I know how to create usable, functional and successful web sites.

Web Design

The process I use to build a web site offers you the greatest say in the design process and I will encourage you to communicate with me. I will ask you a series of questions about your business. These are important because you know your business better than I do. From your answers I will sketch out where I think each block of information will go. Once we've discussed this and you've signed it off I will create a visual wireframe. From here you can ask as many questions as you need and request as many changes as you need. Once you've signed this off I will then begin coding the site

My code will be valid HTML and will have the tags required for search engines. It will include statistical information and will work in many resolutions and browsers. In short my site will work for just about everybody no matter what tool they use to access the site and the journey path should be the shortest possible.

My work takes time because a lot of research and care goes into making your site succeed. An average time-scale is two to four weeks but this may take longer if the site is complex, large or I have to wait for your content to be supplied.

Charity work

I do a lot of free work for charities including web design, SEO advice, usability advice and so on. If you are a "registered" charity and need some guidance I may be able to help. I cannot undertake very big projects but often undertake smaller projects. You can also try IT4C for assistance. This is one of the places I check regularly for charity work.

What you need to do:

  • I have around a dozen questions you will need to answer so I have clear understanding of priorities for each area on the page.
  • You will need to supply the content and images. I can source images if required but you will need to supply all of the text.
  • You will need to sign off three stages. These stages are the block wireframe, the visual wireframe and the completed site.

My promises to you

  • Your site will have a lower than average bounce rate [ What's this? ]
  • Your site will work across many browsers and resolutions
  • Your site will be unique, fresh and clean
  • I will be able to answer emails quickly
  • Most of my clients (even those from a decade ago) stay with me because I deliver what I promise!
