I have been using computers since 1983 and I work 14 hours a day on them. I have maintained a network of computers in an Internet Cafe here in Torquay since 1997 so I know many tips and tricks for keeping your PC as healthy and as safe as possible.

If you want someone who has kept up-to-date with all new changes and methods then look no further. If you want someone who speaks in plain, easy-to-understand English then also look no further. Most shops deal only in hardware. Because I've spent so many years looking after the day-to-day running of PC's I have a knowledge of windows not found in most places. I try to fix the windows problem and that doesn't mean re-installing windows which seems to be a shops solution for just about everything!

You may need my help if:

• Your computer shuts itself down or crashes a lot.
• You have the Broadband package but need help setting it all up.
• You suffer from lots of popup's.
• Your worried about your computer dialing a premium rate number instead of your ISP.
• You want your machine configured to maximum online safety.
• You need training for the Internet, email or computer health.

I don't sell or fit new hardware but most problems can be fixed without having to buy new hardware. By contacting me you'll know that I won't be coming to you and try to sell you hardware you don't need. You will get an un-biased appraisal of the problem and 95% of the time I can fix problems on the spot. I do not re-install windows unless all other methods fail. On average though I re-install windows 2 or 3 times a year in total.

Hardware means the cards inside the box you turn on. When you phone me I will ask what are the problems you are experiencing. If it sounds like a hardware problem I can recommend 2 or 3 places who I know are reliable but I will not get involved myself. The reason is I am not a shop and so couldn't give guarantees on hardware I purchase or install.
