BUSY BEE
Wow, almost a week has past since my last post. Just shows how busy I've been! The birth and then the hospital stay last week really snowed me under with work and I've been working from 5-6am to 6-10pm to try and catch up with it all. Unless I spend a couple of hours each day on paperwork everything just builds up so fast I can't keep up with it.
I made a few mistakes over the last couple of weeks and it shows no matter how good a system you have in place things just have a way of finding a weakness. I have a system that couldn't be better but it's always the human element that can get in the way.
DevonLocks.Com has its last few days of the sale left so things have picked up a gear as people buy in before it ends.
From April this year Torbay will have parking attendants instead of traffic wardens and the council estimates the tickets issued will rise from 9,000 a year now to 36,000 a year. With an extra income of over 1.5 million pounds I'm sure it will help pay for the councils next big payrise.
Ghostbusters are heading to South Devon to check out a spectre who has been haunting a theatre. The ghost of Edmerelda has been seen floating around the Shaftesbury Theatre at Dawlish for decades, and now the Nightwatch UK ghost investigation team is on the way. Liz Wedlake of the Dawlish Repertory Company, which owns the theatre, explained: "They are very well known in this field, and have appeared on TV. They heard about our spirit and offered to come down and see if they could make contact with her."There have been many sightings of Edmerelda over the years, and a long time it ago is recorded that people armed with blunderbusses went looking for her.
Where's the snow then?
As most of the UK gets snowed under Torbay remains once again snow free. The last time I remember snow settling here in Torquay was 1987 but I also remember Roselands getting snow sometime in the mid 90's. It's funny because in my dog's lifetime (15) he's never walked in snow. I really miss the white stuff sometimes.
