I read yesterday that local netsman want to shoot and kill the seals that are currently in the bay.

I wonder if it's the same fisherman that have been wreaking shore fishing for hundreds of fisherman over the last few months by placing pots all along Princess Pier, All around Babbacombe pier and around hopes nose? If it is I'm happy that the Seals are doing what I dream of. I'm out of pocket almost £100 because of them this year so any damage the seals can cause is fine by me.

These guys seem to want everything their way and tough shit to anyone or anything that upsets them. I fish all the time and I often see the seals down there. The seals being there reduce the chances of catching a fish but do I care? no I don't because I respect that they have just as much right to be there as I do. The place these pots in all the worst places and most popular places to fish so I have no sympathy for the netsman at all.

Anyone who spots the seals can't help smiling at how cute they are... I urge all of you to not let the local netsman kill off something that does bring a large amount of people down to the seafronts!

One of the netsman said to the herald express:

"I could be making a nice living if they left me some of the fish."

My reply would be twofold:

"There would be more shore fisherman spending tens of thousands locally if netsman stopped placing pots where all the shore fisherman fish and trawlers stopped trawling the bay"

"The Seals are bringing in tourists to the bay. I'd much rather dozens and dozens of local shops benefited from them instead of one or two greedy fisherman!"

As most of you know I run a mail order locksmith supply site. I've been going over the orders that people messed up and I've come across something startling and I swear this is true; they are all from people with AOL addresses.

So far I've had the following happen:

- Order form and postal order but no name or address to deliver too.

- Cheque payable to wrong name

- Cheques with no signatures

I was amazed this morning that all the addresses came from AOL users... that is spooky... and a little worrying :-)

The Events in Torbay for 2004 page has been updated with many more things to do over the coming months. I hope to see some of you at them!

Plymouth yachtsman Conrad Humpreys has been penalised for starting too early in the Transat single-handed race. Round-the-world sailor Ellen MacArthur started the 37 competitors at Plymouth in the 2,800-mile race.

A 10-strong team of ghost-busting experts has detected what they believe is paranormal activity at Plymouth's naval dockyard.

I took my Nephew Tom to see The day after tomorrow at Torquay's cinema yesterday. Every year along comes a film that must be seen on a big screen. Well this is certainly one of them. I'm going to see this one again is was that good. 10/10!
