Some people are amazing.
A women comes into the video shop today and wanted to join. I told her we needed 2 pieces of I.D. with her current address on but she had none. She had a right go at me because I wouldn't let her join with just her word about where she lives. She then gets out a driving licence and says to me...
"Will this do. It's my old address but I don't want you or anyone to know my new address".
I kid you not, that is what she said and then had another go when I said no, we needed some proof of address before we hand out what could be a hundred pounds worth of films.
Roll on 9pm when I shut :-)

I can't remember the last time I was this tired. It's been a while since I was working 17 hours a day and after only 3 days of it I'm suffering already. I have found a new friend, it's called Redbull :-)
I routed through a cable into the video shop so I can watch Sky during the day. Yesterday and today it was Bravo. I can remember as a kid when Knight Rider first came on air and I couldn't believe how cool the series was. I look at it now and chuckle at how corny it all is.
My dog Zeus is all moody because he's only used to being left alone 1 day a week and I'm glad he doesn't understand there is still another 2 days to go hehehe.
This new virus Sasser is already causing problems for friends. I had the owner of Pappas bring his machine over yesterday because it was grinding to a halt. I didn't know about Sasser yesterday but I saw he had a virus and removed it. It was only this morning when I was watching the news did I see the reason for his problems. Sasser is unusual because it doesn't rely on you clicking or opening anything; you can get infected just by being on the internet.
To protect yourself against this and other viruses you must:-
1. Turn your firewalls on
2. Update your virus programmes at least once a day.
3. Keep up-to-date with windows updates
Recently the virus checker I use has updated more than once a day and even this is sometimes not quick enough because there will always be a few hour gap between the virus being discovered and the updates being created. If you use a modem it will be a real pain but it's something that you must keep on top of.

So here I am, day 2 in the video shop / internet cafe. Just 4 days to go :(
I did have something funny happen last night though which had me and a few customers laughing.
Customer with his son comes up to me with some videos he wants to rent. When I type in his number on the computer it bleeps that I need to confirm a phone number.
Me: "Could you confirm your phone number is still ****** please"
Customer: "Yes that’s correct"
Customers Son: "No it isn't Daddy, the phone people cut us off and you can't afford to pay it".
This guy gave his son the evilest look you've ever seen :-)

I have my Sky going again which is really sweet. I forgot how much I love the Bloomberg channel. You might laugh at that statement but there is no greater or faster way of falling asleep than to have Bloomberg on :-)
