Well I went fishing all day yesterday and then in the late afternoon I shot back home, fed the dog and then went back down to Haldon pier to take some photos of the tall ship coming into Torbay.

It should have been mooring up along the marina but in the end it just anchored out in the middle of the bay. I took a few photos but I had to zoom to get good photos of it so the quality isn't all that great. You can see the Tall ship wallpaper photo here (On the new site).

The fishing was amazingly bad. I was there for over 4 hours and didn't get a single bite and everyone else along Princess Pier was the same. The worst part was some muppet has put buoys and pots all along the pier right by where everyone fishes. I can't believe they are allowed to do this considering how popular the pier is for fishing.

You can tell it's a bank holiday because all the jet-skiers come out in force. While I was down there I was watching 1 parent with his two children all on a jet ski. He had complete disregard for the fisherman and was coming right in where everyone was fishing. The result was one poor fisherman watching his rod go out to sea because the jet skier snagged onto it. He was driving everyone mad.

1Mb Broadband WOOT!!

Isn't this just a lovely site:

Simon's new 1mb Broadband connection

My god I love this connection :-)

It appears that TV broadcasters are getting edgy over Broadband use. In its report: "Broadcasters Beware: Broadband Is Stealing Your Viewers, the firm warns that TV broadcasters are losing millions of viewers to broadband Internet services".

Hmmm ok, what would I rather do.... watch almost 20 minutes of adverts every hour or stay on my computer. Think I know the answer to that one already. There are less and less programs I want to watch and BBC is really getting on my nerves with its 3 to 5 minutes of "Adverts" after each programme advertising its own programmes coming soon. They are worse than normal adverts because at least normal adverts give you a Varity of ads. BBC just shows the same programme ad over and over and over and over again. The sooner the BBC has to switch to adverts and dump this TV licence the better. I can't be the only one sick to death of the BBC adverts?

As Torbay faces the 2nd largest price hike in Council Tax anywhere in England and Wales the council have announced that more than half the public toilets in Torbay are to remain closed. This follows news of dozens of other services cut or chopped. Considering people in Torbay are paying more than double the council tax they were a few years ago you really have to wonder why year after year the services get considerably worse and yet the money we pay gets considerably higher?

The world's largest tall ship will be mooring in Torbay tomorrow.

The Russian-owned Sedov is due to arrive at around 4.30pm. She will be moored off Torquay harbour until she leaves on Sunday evening. The vessel has a crew of about 50. Around 120 cadets will also be on board.

Opportunities will be available for members of the public to take a look on board.

Monday night is Comedy night at the KoKo Lounge in Torquay!

On of my best friends is the manager of the KoKo lounge in Torquay and on Monday nights they have a comedy night. All I can is it is brilliant! I haven't laughed as much as I did on Monday for a very long time.

I am sponsoring the Monday night there and I went on Monday to take loads of pics of the club for their web site. Here is a piccy of me there:

Simon at the KoKo lounge comedy night

What wasn't so good was the image you see on this page (top left) with me holding the fish. The bastard used it and handed this to everyone at the club:

laughs at my expense

But he didn't stop there...

He got the comedian to continuously mention the person in the photo was me and pointed to me. During one of the intervals he then went through everyone's caption. Very, very embarrassing and I'm going to get him back for this sooooo bad :-)

Seriously though, Monday's are normally very boring and nothing on TV. If you fancy spending the whole night in fits of laughter and drinking pitchers of beer (how cool is that!) then this is the place to be. I had a great time there!

I've only just started on their new web site and it's on our test server but for more details of the KoKo lounge nights click here.

One of the comedy acts was an aussie called Jarred Christmas and I swear to god this man is one of the funniest and most talanted people I've seen.

Jarred Christmas - a very funny and talented stand up comedian!

I was laughing so much I couldn't catch my breath. If you EVER hear of a Jarred Christmas performing near you GO AND SEE HIM! this man will have you in stiches!

Ok, big update coming along...

If you like rally driving and fancied taking part or watching one I now have a section for Rally motor sports in Devon.

I am doing a separate site for the free wallpapers which is purely a wallpaper site and not a Devon information site. The new Free wallpaper site is here.

The Official Torbay Carnival web site is taking shape. I just need to do something with the links.

The Yacht charters in Turkey site is almost done except for a script error I need to trace down.

The Turkey brokerage and boat building site is live now.

The Property in Turkey site is half way completed but I thought I might as well show you what my sites are like mid way through.

This weekends Easter tide times for Torbay has been updated.

The UK version of the lock picking tools site is now live. This is the UK version of the lock pick sets - dot com site.

SimonDay.Com now has 30,000 hits a month so Hi all :-)

Now can you see why, on MSN etc, I've been saying don't disturb me unless you have to. I have never been as busy as this before and I still have more to do.

The KoKo Lounge has a comedy night on a Monday night and we are sponsoring it and also doing their web site so that is now also in progress.

In the next couple of days my ADSL is being upgraded to a 1Mb line because of the amount of site uploading and log downloading I have to do each day.

That's it for now :)
