Sometimes I really hate people :-)
So as you can see from my photo on the top left here I was quite pleased with my dogfish. That was until Andy emailed me a photo of his catch the other night, a tope:
Aaaarrrggghhhhhh why did you have to ruin such happy times for me dammit :)
Now I have to work on super imposing a photo of me leaning against it looking dead chuffed ;-)
Anyway it was 10pm last night and Andy got hold of me on MSN and asked what time was the high tide. I pointed him to my tide times page and he was thinking of going out. I said I wouldn't mind joining him. So at 11pm last night off I went down to Princess pier and we met up and did some fishing. It was snowing and the temperature was minus 1 with a wind chill dropping that down to minus 5. It was the perfect time to test the limits of my penn flotation suit. The results were my arms, body and legs were snug and warm (just a jumper and shorts on under it) but my feet, head and hands were freeeeeezing. Another great lesson learnt :)
We finished at 3am just as another bout of snow was about to drop. Andy if you read this thanks for last night, I enjoyed the company.
Because of this web site I am meeting a lot of really nice people and I think of myself as pretty lucky.

Just a quickie for now - This weekends Tide Times for Torbay have been updated.
I've also added a PC health care page listing software you can use for free to help keep your PC in good shape. I use all the programmes I list myself so I can recommend them.

Google is now back to normal with regards to its Austin update. The results were so bad during Austin I was hoping it would revert back.
Yahoo offically no longer uses Google as its search engine. There was talk of Yahoo switching back but this isn't the case.
In "The Register" today there is a piece about popups having negative effects on the business using them.
I think we all could have told them that years ago but the interesting part of the story was a company called bunnyfoot using special technology which tracked the eye movement of people looking at a computer screen, Bunnyfoot found that pop-ups were only seen in two per cent of cases. I knew the figure would be low but 2% is quite amazing.
Talking of popups a local vicar got caught out when he thought he was closing a popup window. He was in fact clicking a button which then logged him off his ISP and then dialled Africa. He is now £60 worse off. More details here.
The Register also did a story today about My friend is a PC. Oh my god I'm so sad.... not only is my PC my friend it's my Best Friend. If my flat was ever on fire I'm certain I would throw my PC to the fire brigade first and then throw me and the dog out :-)
In local news today the row over the huge pay rise the Lib Dems gave themselves is again Biting them in the arse. In case you didn't know the council tax in this area was going to rise so high that Torbay was actually mentioned in the House of commons. Lib Dems, do the right thing!

A popular local DJ Alex Holmes (28) Died today, six days after being critically injured.
A pair of people out to con are in the bay at the moment. They are pretending to be RSPCA officers. Full story here so heads up folks.
I read today that WH Smiths have Stopped selling CD singles. All the record companies have to do now is give away CD's for the next 30 years to compensate for the decades of ripping off the public and we'll all be even :)
