Completely forgot to mention - Had a cheque come through today from a company who wanted to use one of my photos for their brouchure. They sent me the copy of the brouchure and the cheque!

I'm having a constant battle with people linking to my site and using my backgrounds as their backgrounds on their pages. I'm dealing with 6 abuse@domains just for today. It's getting daft :-/

I ordered some stuff off the net last Sunday from a site in the states and I hadn't heard anything and it's now Friday and I was getting really worried. Finally got an email today saying it will posted on Monday.. Yanks sure like to work slow :)

Didn't go fishing tonight because I had a lot of work to do before the weekend so I'm hoping to go out Saturday or Sunday (or both hehe).

Not much else to post today, been so busy with work not much else happened. At least it's Friday and I'm still sticking to having the weekends off... so nice not to be working 7 days a week anymore :)

I was working in the video/cybercafe yesterday and it was a really slow day. I think every business is slow after Christmas and I can't wait for Feb to come along so it starts to pick up again.

Torrington in North Devon has been annouced as the first town in Devon to get wireless broadband technology.

Also a recent survey on channel 4's "Britain's favourite holiday" has voted the South West UK as being the top holiday destination for British tourists which puts us ahead of the likes of Spanish Costas and Greek Islands. I must admit last summer was as busy as I've seen Torbay in years and even Torquay pier was struggling with so many fisherman.

I had a junk mail today from a firm saying "GUARANTEED TOP TEN POSITIONS ON..." blah blah blah. Their URL is: Magikpages.

Hmm ok I thought to myself. Because they are advertising what I do I thought I would check them out. First off they have no page rank at all. No problem I thought, maybe they just suck at this. So I then used their own targeted keywords which were "Search engine optimization" and guess what, they are not even in the top One Hundred on google.

I then thought to myself "Ok, now I know they really suck but how badly" so I put their URL into google and they aren’t even on there.

Hahahahaha trying to sell something when they can't even do it for themselves. I think they should talk to a real expert :)

This company is a prime example of why you should check a company out and also phone up clients to see what they think of them. God help anyone who is going to waste $99 on a company that can't even get themselves onto the search engines they are selling their services for.

I've stopped laughing at them now :)

Monday's are without a doubt the busiest day of the week for me. Not one, not two, not three, not four but FIVE web sites wanted updates. Urgh :)

I took some pics of Hopes Nose today which is where a lot of people go fishing in Torquay. It has the reputation of being the best place to fish from so I'm going to add some photos for my Places to fish in Torbay page so people can exactly where I mean.

I wanted to take some photos of Meadfoot as well as there are a few spots to fish from but they had closed the road down so I couldn't get access to it. I'll try again another day.

Oh, and the reason I'm holding the dogfish with a cloth isn't because I didn't want to get my hands fishy :-) but because I'd read that you can kill some fish by holding them with bare hands so I never touch any fish now unless I'm keeping it.

I spent to day and night fishing today. I got a phone call from Rob who I haven't heard from since the summer and he wondered if I wanted to go fishing. I was already going to pick up my Nephew Tom to go fishing at 4pm but changed plans and picked him up at about midday.

It was gale force winds and pouring with rain. Rob only managed to fish for 2 hours before he got too cold/wet and went home and Tom bless him lasted until 4pm. All I had on was a teeshirt and my flotation suit and I was boiling as usual. I'm going to keep going about the Penn suit because it just kicks so much ass :)

We didn't catch anything during the day (as usual down there) but I went back at 6pm and there was no stopping the pulls. First of all I had 2 hooks and one had rag worm while the other had Squid. The rag was getting all the bites but the fish were quite small. I then combined the rag and squid on each hook and the results were staggering. I ended up with 6 cod, a few pollock, a few whiting and this Dogfish which weighed in just under 2lb

Not as good as my summer dogfish but still not bad for the pier.

The combining of the squid and rag really made a big difference and it suddenly attracted much bigger fish.
