Well the get-together at the Lansdowne Inn went really well and I'd like to thank the following people for coming:

Richard from Dolphin Diving
Nick from Torquay Marine Sales
Andrew from Elite titles
Andrew from Factory Media Design
Alan from Bidding for Excellence

It was the first time we've ever done this and I really enjoyed myself and I hope the others did too.

Tonight is the night I'll be at the Lansdowne Inn in South Street, Torquay. I''ll be there from 7.30pm until close.

I've added a few new pages to this site:

Boats for sale in Torbay

Christmas and Birthday gift ideas

Guide to buying a Spanish property

Site map - This site is getting huge :)

I also have cause for celebration tonight. This site has been very close to 10k a month hit for a while but I've finally breached the 10k barrier WOOT! :)

My bandwidth is getting silly so I've placed the front page photos on BT's free webspace to try and save some. Here are the stats for the last 4 months:

Sep 2003 - 762MB/Month
Oct 2003 - 1.48GB/Month
Nov 2003 - 2.03GB/Month
Dec 2003 - already 997MB :)

So hope to see some of you tonight :)

Don't forget I'll be in the Lansdowne Inn, south street, Torquay tomorrow if you fancy meeting me and asking questions about anything.

If you're one of the many call centre operatives who faces losing your job to firms in India you might find the new tee-shirt from The register appealing. See their page: My job went to India and all I got was this lousy t-shirt

UK's anti spam laws came into force today and I agree with the experts in that I also doubt it will make any difference whatsoever.

Talk about good timing. My post yesterday talked about crime paying and the headlines in the news today are

Twenty Three charged after raids. All we need now are those charged to face a minimum sentence instead of being let off as usual :)

I got quick a shock yesterday afternoon when my second Shopping web site got cached by Google. The first shopping site still isn't showing so I need to work out what to do with it next.

I'm also feeling better today. After a week of being in bed almost the entire time it's nice to be getting back to normal again. The flu bug going around at the moment is really evil and I don't think I've ever had a worse case of flu than this one. It drains you of everything.

I saw today on our local news: BBC Custody death from 'misadventure'

His parents statement read "Paul Dyer had a right to life like anyone else. The family of Paul Dyer came to this inquest in the search for the truth"

HELLO???

The truth is their son was driving a car Drunk. The truth is their son swallowed a a whole load of cocaine. If their son hadn't swallowed the drugs and if he wasn't drink driving when he was pulled over he would still be alive today. There is no-one else to blame here. If he had said "officers, I'm drunk and I just ate a whole load of coke, I think I'm going to be in trouble" THEN they could have done something about it.

Even when I was still at school all those years ago I knew then you never mix drink and drugs. What did he expect was going to happen?

Why do people always try to lay blame on someone else. He was commiting 2 very serious offences and his death was a result of these offenses. If he had been law abiding at the time he got stopped he would be alive today. Trying to lay blame on others is stupid imo.

This reminds of the thief who broke his leg falling over a cable on the floor while stealing the home owners possessions. He was caught and jailed but then sued and WON because he broke his leg. The world has gone mad!

Did anyone see Mersey Beat on monday?

One of the people on the series said something like "burglary has pretty much been de-criminalised". I've never heard anything so true spoken on TV before.

I rember a case where a very well known local burglar who had 22 pages on his criminal record for burglary and other such offenses. He went to Court on 2 counts of burglary and 45 other burglaries T.I.C. He got 120 hours community service.

HAHAHA I bet that really deterred him.

This is the very reason Police morale is so low. You really do start to think if arresting anyone is worth it because you'll do hours and hours of paperwork, go to court and watch them pretty much walk free time after time after time after time.

Instead of the Government raising maximum sentences they should raise the minimum. If the minimum sentence was 6 months in prision for burglary then that is what every burglar would get. Crimes against homes are hidious crimes where people often will never in their life feel safe again.

Crime should not pay!

Well my other shopping site just won't get indexed on the search engines and I'm not sure why (never had this problem before) so I've created a second Shopping site listings web site to see what happens with this one. None of the links work yet because I'm waiting to see if the shell gets indexed before I start on all the pages.

I must admit I do like the look of this shopping site compared to the other Shopping site

On Friday the 12th December I'll be in the Lansdowne Inn, Torquay meeting clients and having a few drinks. If anyone who visits this site wants to come along and say hello or pick my brain that is the day to do it.
http://www.clearbluemedia.net/xmas.htm has all the details.

This flu bug has knocked me for six. I woke up this morning at 10.30am wishing I hadn't bothered. It took me 15 minutes to gather the energy to visit the bathroom. My bed was soaking wet from sweating all night and everytime I stand up I feel giddy and fall down again. I haven't felt this ill in a very long time.

My Sister had her wedding yesterday and it went really well. I might as well embarrass her and show this photo of Sadie and Gary Hunt :-)

You know the saying "Strongbow, nothing else hits the mark", well I think This person should be too young to take notice hehehe

The Daily Mail has announced that it is going online properly from Feb 2004. This is the paper that runs every scare story about the net regardless of the facts. Should be interesting to see where they stand once it goes live.
