I had really wanted to get down to the Osborne hotel this morning because they were filming San Antonio. I thought I'd make it but a client wanted help setting up his PC to collect the emails so I had to settle with my friend phoning me up with the helicopter directly outside his lounge saying how great it all was... grrrr hehe. I told him to take loads of pics so hopefully I'll be able to add them to the site when he emails them to me.
There isn't much that bugs me... that's the truth. Having spent a week writing the most extensive F.A.Q for our server someone could possibly write I do find it really annoying that my clients don't take the time to read it. 99% of all emails and phone calls asking for support can be found clearly on our support pages. The client I had to visit today was having trouble accessing his emails. I go there to find out the problem was he was either using his "old servers" username and password or he hadn't actually added the email name in the first place. I had repeatedly emailed him the link he needed but I don't think he ever bothered reading it. He also phoned me last night to say he couldn't gain access to the FTP, it wouldn't connect. So I went to my FTP F.A.Q page and just read out what it said. 1 minute later he could access the FTP server....../sigh Anyway, I missed a very exciting day because he didn't read the answers to the problems on the site so I'm allowed to vent steam :-)
While driving to the client I kept driving past people still only wearing a pair of shorts. It's hard to beleive we are almost in October with Weather like this.

I ended up having a great day today. I've been so busy I completly forgot that Richard from DolphinDiving.Com was taking me out on his boat to take some photos and do some fishing.
Left Brixham Marina at 11am on board his Dory and headed along the coastline passing Brixham, Paignton and ending up in Torquay. I took loads of photos so I'll be adding them over time. We did a spot of fishing around the Thatchers Rock, Hopes Nose area and we caught 10 Mackerel and I caught a fish I've not seen before.
I don't get sea sick but today, for the first time, I had a small piece of chocolate and 5 minutes after eating it I was sick like I've never been before. It's real nasty when you have nothing left to bring up but still your over the side trying. This was at 3.30pm so we headed back to shore. So *Mental Note - no chocolate at sea anymore* :-)
Anyway apart from that I still really enjoyed being out at sea again. I used to have an 18ft twin berth cabin cruiser and I really, relly miss it. When I have some money a new boat is at the top of the list of things to get.
My guestbook had yet another post with a hyperlink so this time I've made it so search engines won't cache the page. They can do what they want now, it won't achieve anything ;-)

I found out today that there is a location in Torquay which is being used to film San Antonio and stars Gérard Depardieu as the leading actor. I know someone who has a birds eye view of the whole thing so I may go down there tomorrow and take a few pics of it all.
I've spent the day formating the machines in the Cyber Cafe and I'm well and truely formatted out :-)
I wont be able to take any piccys tomorrow or Friday so it will be at least the weekend until I post some more. Saying that though, I have over 4,000 photos of Torbay already so I might post some more of them up.

I have a friend I call thiefy come over today and I know she reads this so thank you for the mince pies.. I'm gonna munch them a little later tonight :-)
I love mince pies big time..... and jaffa cakes so I love this time of year when mince pies start hitting the shops again.. yum yum :)
I've had one of those days where I wanted to spend time with thiefy but every few minutes the phone would ring with clients asking questions, I seriously need a day off soon :)
Thankfully I don't think anyone who fishes in Torbay reads any of this because if I got emails saying what a great day they had fishing I think I would cry :)
I see on The Register today that employees in the Netherlands can't be sacked for downloading porn at work. I bet a lot of other people in the World are cursing them now hehe
I also that Microsoft has to pay out $1 million in legal fees... nice :-)
If anyone spends a small fortune in text messages take a peek at Uboot, might save you a few quid.

I can't remember the last time I was this busy... ever! I haven't had time off since last Tuesday and the pressure is certainly on at the moment. I'm sat here staring at my fishing gear while looking at a desktop wallpaper of Torquay pier and wishing I could get out there for a bit.
I'm currently working on 7 web sites and, as always, I design a unique look for each site which takes longer but the extra effort for each site shows (I think so anyway). Problem is 24hours in a day doesn't seem to be enough.
I thought I'd beaten the commercial spammers on my Guestbook but some crafty person beat my system so I just spent 10 minutes securing it even further. I love this kind of cat and mouse game.... but I think I've won this time ;-)
Oh well, back to work, might update later
I am a very happy tonight.
I bought a laptop second hand a couple of years ago and the hard drive died almost right after I bought it. Well, I forgot all about it until last week when a friend mentioned he had a spare laptop hard drive he didn't know what to do with. I bought the drive and I now have a laptop again. This is a huge benifit to me because when I meet clients now I can show the sites we have designed and I can also hook it up to my digital camera so I can see straight away if the photos I take for clients are ok.
My fishing days seem to be getting less and less. I was planning on taking a trip to Haldon Pier in Torquay tomorrow to do a spot of float fishing. The cyber cafe had other ideas and today 2 of the machines went down. I have to spend the morning fixing them. Hopefully I'll be able to get some fishing time in tomorrow, I certainly need it after the busy week I've had.
I watched The Italian Job tonight. Not the Michael Caine version in the 60's but the 2003 version. I heard a lot of good things about the film but I didn't enjoy it and nor did my folks.

Because I haven't been able to fish from Haldon pier, Torquay for the last 5 days due to work I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms. I have to work in the Cyber Cafe this afternoon so I can't go fishing today either. I decided to surf for Torbay fishing links and came across Torbay Angling Information from the local Government site listing a large amount of info about fishing in Torbay.
I also thought I'd mention Richard Hancocks guide to Wrecks, Diving and by-laws in the Torbay area.
Pah, need one more ciggy before I hit the sack.
Please check my Free Desktop Wallpapers of Torbay. It mainly has photos of the coast but also has desktops of fisherman, boats at sea, sunsets, Torbay marinas, countryside and scenery. I spend a lot of time on this site and you could find a desktop you'd like to use.
I just spent the last 24 hours building an entire site. English Manor was created beause I could no longer update a site so old and miss mashed that the coding really needed updating. This site was first created back in 1998 in Frontpage (Yes I'll admit, I did used to use it when I first started, I think a lot of people did).
New version of DreamWeaver has come out. DreamWeaver 2004 does have a lot of bugs but it's a lot nicer than the old one. It FINALLY has better tools to check for valid html and also more options when creating tables etc so it also passes laws for the disabled. All in all a 7/10 with a 9/10 once the bugs get fixed.
I noticed while looking for blog info that Will Wheaton has his own blog. Grats on being a geek ;-)
Ok, ciggy finished, off to bed
