Torbay's storm damage_
Wednesday saw some of the worst flooding to ever hit Torbay. In the almost 20 years I've lived here I've never seen it this bad.
In Torquay the main road into Paignton, which runs along the coast, was closed off 4 hours either side of high tide with waves reaching 50ft as they crashed against the sea walls.
Paignton seafront and adjoining roads were flooded with water up to 8 inches. Torbay road, which is the main road in Paignton, was partly under water and they reckon up to 50 buildings were flooded. The force was so strong cars were being moved with the force.
Thursday was better but as I sit here now the rain continues to pour down.
