It is that time of year once again.....

I really don't like the next few weeks because we're at that stage again where silly people go buy fireworks and then use them in the most dangerous ways. Tonight I was fishing down Oddicombe and a car comes down. Parks up and then a group of kids get out of the car and position themselves between me and another group of fisherman 50 yards away. I hear them laughing and joking and the next thing I know I hear a whoosh and then one huge firework explode just a few feet away from me.

I was going to take my dog with my tonight and I'm glad I didn't. That was a really dangerous thing to do for a number of reasons. The main two being the cliffs are very, very unsafe. The second being the proximity of the firework and innocent people.

If you've ever been down there you'll know just how unsafe the cliffs are. If you haven't been down there a third of the beach is closed off because it's so unsafe.

Just another 8 to 12 weeks of this rubbish until it stops again. I wish they would just ban these things and have organised events only!
