After I updated my previous entry I sat here thinking "Well, nothing on TV and I don't want to work anymore on a Sunday" so I got my fishing gear and went straight back out fishing. I ended up on Torquay Pier and it's been yeeeeears since I went night fishing. Oh My God what a difference. I had 2 rods and both were bottom fishing. I had bite after bite after bite after bite. I ended up catching 2 dozen nice sized pollock, 1 bass, 1 whiting, a dozen nice sized wrasse a dozen mackerel. But that wasn't the best bit.

My new reel is a bait runner and I've never had one before and tonight I thank god I was using it. The reel was on my beach caster and I was getting so many fish I thought I might as well stick 1/2 a mackerel on each hook and see what happens. Well half way through this evening I heard the line reeling out at mach 9 with my rod bending and shaking like I've never seen before. I spent 20 minutes playing whatever it was until my 30 pound tracer broke. It's my first decent "one that got away" tale. If I hadn't had a bait runner I know that my rod and reel would be half way to France by now :-)
